"if we are what God says we are when we comprehend His words, then is there more that we are, and don't know it yet?" What else are we? Were we not what He said before we realized it? Think about this for a minute…ponder the implications. Intriguing only begins to express the mystery that surrounds this question; yet, a very simple answer is appropriate, Yes and Much more. Knowledge or lack of knowledge does not change spiritual fact. The phrase “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it” is a great statement for those who align life character with His eternal declaration. Quickly this sentence can be shortened by taking out our part that states “I believe it.” Believing it only allows me to participate in it without consequence. If God said it, then it is settled. His intentions must be received by my heart; however, His word is established solid no matter what.
The reality of this came to my attention recently with some miracles that began to take place through the church we at. Someone declared the church to be a “CANCER FREE ZONE.” Some took this literally and proclaimed it strong, in fact, so strong that people with cancer became miraculously healed. One person after another received discharge reports from their Doctors. People started traveling in from other cities to step into the waters of healing…and they were healed. One day an unassuming man in the church asked the Pastor this question “If we became a Cancer Free Zone after it was proclaimed, what else are we and we don’t know it yet? Questions that challenge the portion of our heart that exceed our personal labor can only be answered when we search what God is saying. People pray for cancer to dissolve and go away, but a zone?...a place where cancer can’t dwell? Is it about a location or is it meant for wherever the children of God plant their feet? God is the author of all things that transcend a desperate situation; therefore, whatever He proclaims is meant for anyone who will take hold of it and reign over the trespass. When Jesus destroyed the power of sin on the cross, He made my salvation available to me. A blood soaked Redeem NOW card had my name on it. It existed in reality more than anything seen or unseen. When the Good News came to me I gladly took that Paid in Full mysterious reality and made it what I live for. If Jesus is truly the one who “fills all in all” as Ephesians 1:23 says, then He has all authority to reveal the things hidden so that we can know all that we have access to. Knowing gives entrance into a place that was formerly limited or guarded. In Ephesians 1:16- 18 Paul writes to the believers “(I) do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,…”
Serving God is like living in a huge castle which represents His kingdom…He is the king who has invited each of us to take up residence with Him…He declared that everything in the castle is ours, Choosing to remain at the front door without exploring every passage way and hall is comparable to a Christian who has an inheritance in His riches and glory, but never acts on it. The kingdom is mysterious with secrets that are waiting to be revealed to the passionate explorer. The king is all He will ever be and all He ever was. His delight is to share those things that are unknown to be acted on for those in need. A possession without a possessor lies dormant allowing something usable to be left unknown.
